This popular local bar is tucked away in a Victorian home and when it needed a redesign I was inspired by the home’s historic details, the culture of craft cocktails and the speakeasy revival.
The biggest challenge and greatest achievement working with his small budget. Mokum deco wallpaper covers center of the venue, while the adjacent rooms have true Venetian stucco with vintage mirrors and frame molding.
All the walls have unique picture-hanging moldings allowing art to be hung with out wall damage. The red and dark brown tufted leather couches, Edison bulbs, vintage exit signs, and authentic sheet music with cheeky messages from the Jazz Era hang from the walls. The entire bar has a dark, intimate, and comfortable space where you can sip craft cocktails, and organic wines, or try out the owner’s famous collection of hard-to-find whiskeys. A favorite date night spot.
